CROSSFIT

CrossFit Clearwater was established in 2011 as a registered affiliate. Most people don’t realize that CrossFit affiliates are individually owned. They are not all the same. As a matter of fact, they can be very different. 

Over the last several years, we have evolved for the better. The facility has grown. The tools of the trade have increased. The programming is more thought out and challenging. The experience of the coaching staff has 

more depth. 

Everyone should CrossFit! This mentality has changed over our tenure. We believe CrossFit is an extremely effective fitness methodology, but should not be force fed to people. CrossFit is not for everyone. 

CrossFit focuses on creating a well rounded athlete. Well rounded being defined by the 10 general physical skills. These skills are Cardiovascular endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy. To become proficient in all of these skills takes a varied program filled with movements that some people may not be comfortable attempting. Some people find this challenge exciting and engaging. Some people find it overwhelming or unnecessary. If you are the latter, we have other programs that can create improved fitness and may be a better fit for you.

That being said, CrossFit can be scaled so that if you want to participate, you can. Our coaching staff is adept at making the Workout of the Day one size fits all. 

Our community is varied. We welcome everyone at all fitness levels. All we ask is that you come to class ready to work. Everyone works at their own pace and tries to improve their own personal fitness. Within that vein we compete. We find competition is healthy and can elicit a stronger effort from our athletes. This translates into better fitness. Our community is inviting and supportive. It is central to what we do here. 

We have athletes that compete at a high level in the Sport of CrossFit.  These athletes also support everyone who wants to get better. 

We don’t make athletes “test” into our competitive group. The athlete just needs the willingness to do the work.  

Finally, our programming is different than most affiliates. Most people are time constrained. Therefore we try to prioritize our class accordingly. Our top priority is building your work capacity while keeping you safe. Our classes start with a concise dynamic warmup then we go to work. We do not roll on foam rollers and stretch for the first 25 minutes of class. The foam roller and stretching are important but not top priority in our programming. Our top priority is HARD WORK!
